Spirit Ridge K9 Training & Rescue

“from simple beginnings come great dogs”.

'Jewel' (Rescued May 14, 2006)

Jewel was one of those special circumstances where her breeder/owner living in Durham region was unable to care for her due to a change in personal circumstances.  Rather than allowing her to be euthanized, we were able to re-home her with Robert A. of Toronto.  At the time, Jewel was 5 years of age.  She is a Belgian Turvuren (one of the four types of Belgian Shepherds) and a very active girl.

This match-made-in-heaven has been very successful.  Jewel is Robert's 'girl' and, since he lives alone with her, he has been able to give her the attention, training and exercise that she so desperately needed.

Jewel has also shown great interest and aptitude in agility and loves to 'run' our agility course whenever she visits us at Spirit Ridge.
